Books, articles, and other literature concerning the music, thoughts, and research concerning Paul Hindemith as late as 2007. Emphasis given to newer research and to materials written by “famous” authors. Sources listed are exclusively in Germanic and Romance languages. Scholarly literature is primarily included, although some “noteworthy” and “significant” news articles and doctoral dissertations are also present. Reviews and liner notes are only included if they were reproduced in scholarly literature. Introductions to volumes of Sämtliche Werke and other Urtext editions are excluded. Materials concerned with how to practice a given work by Hindemith or how to incorporate works into music education curriculums are avoided.
