Then it divides into chapters according to subject matter: Chronological Discography, Un-issued Sessions, Compilation of Issued Discs, Title List, with Composers & Lyricists, Musician Index, The Imitatums, Films, Published Music, Piano Rolls. The book concludes with four appendices: A Guide to Abbreviations, Matrix Cross Reference List, Other Discographies Examined, and a Quick Dating Guide. Chapters are organized chronologically except for the Title List and Musician Index, which are organized alphabetically. The Imitatums section lists musicians who purposely imitate Tatum's style.
