Hartmann, Karl Amadeus: Sämtliche Musikautographen aus dem Nachlass des Komponisten
-
Karl Amadeus Hartmann (2.8.1905 - 5.12.1963) is one of the most important Munich composers of the 20th century. As the founder of the Bavarian Radio's 'musica viva' concert series, which continues to this day, he is also a central figure for New Music in general. His compositions are among the great creations of music history. The epoch of the twenties (Futurism, Dada, Jazz), the intensive study of the 'New Viennese School' (Schönberg, Berg, Webern) as well as biographical moments - the torturous phase of 'inner emigration' during the National Socialist era and the deep shock of the experience of war - have been incorporated into a highly emotional work. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the death of Karl Amadeus Hartmann in 2013, the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek has digitised the music autographs from the Hartmann estate, which are still protected by copyright, and with the kind permission of the Hartmann family, is bringing them to the public in the Digital Library.
