The historical library of the Munich National Theatre is one of the most extensive and valuable opera libraries in the world. This stock (signature group St.th. for Staatstheater) was handed over to the music department of the Bavarian State Library in the 20th century and comprises the performance material for about 955 stage works from the period from about 1780 to the beginning of the 20th century. It contains the scores, instrumental and vocal parts, piano reductions, textbooks and role books (e.g. director's books, prompter books) required for Munich performance purposes. There is a separate subject catalogue for the entire collection (https://hadbso.bsb-muenchen.de/metaopac/start.do?View=musth). The conditions of use of the music manuscripts apply. (from the website)
