The main catalog is divided into three sections: recordings published under the Gramophone Label from 1900 to 1929, recordings published under the Zonophone label from 1903 to 1924, and recordings published under the Gramophone green label from 1911 to 1914. Each section is organized numerically by label number. Within each entry the following information is found: Original catalog number, matrix/serial number, date of recording, name of artists involved in recording, title of piece, alternative issue numbers, couple numbers, and notes. There is also a listing of the sources used in compiling the catalog and several helpful indexes and appendixes.
