Cobb, Margaret G. Discographie de l'œuvre de Claude Debussy. Publications du centre de Claude Debussy, Saint-Germain-en-Laye, no 1. Geneva: Editions Minkoff, 1975.
-
A discography of the 78-rpm recordings of the works of Claude Debussy, covering the period 1902 to 1950.
-
Includes the 78 rpm recordings of the works of Debussy, 1902-1950. Includes international labels. Recordings of transcriptions and arrangements of Debussy's works are also included in this guide. Author states that this discography should not be considered complete.
-
The recordings are listed under five headings: 1-Dramatic and Choral Works; 2-Orchestral Works; 3-Chamber Music and Works for Solo Instrument and Orchestra; 4-Works for Piano Solo, Piano Four Hands, and Two Pianos; and 5-Songs for Solo Voice and Piano, Songs for Choir A Capella. Within each section, compositions are listed alphabetically, and the recordings are given in chronological order. Each citation includes the artist, the date of issue of the recording, and the location of the recordings in the major public collections. An abbreviations guide is given to help in the navigation of this resource. A list of compositions for which no recordings were found is included after the main entries, followed by an Index of Interpreters and an Index of Compositions to facilitate the location of a given composition.
-
The Index of Performers and the Index of Compositions are especially useful for locating a given work. The locations of the recordings in public collections are helpful.
