Craggs, Stewart R. Lennox Berkley, A Source Book. Sydney, Australia: Ashgate, 2000.
-
This book would be useful for anyone who is interested in the compositions of Lennox Berkley. It is meant to provide factual details of his life and works for the public.
-
The book includes all of Craggs' research from 1984 to 1999. There is no specific criteria for sources he included. Details are only provided when the information was available to the author.
-
Lists of original manuscripts, their locations, and full descriptions on their appearance and visual details are included. There is an alphabetical list of his compositions, and chronology of important events in his life, such as schooling, birth's, birthday's, schooling, compositions, etc. It also includes information on many small details of his life, such as trips, concerts, illness, etc. There is also a complete discography of recordings of his music. The book is organized by sections, each focusing on a different aspect of his compositions. There are three special indexes. They index his main compositions, lost or missing manuscripts, and people who were involved in his musical life.
-
It is probably the most comprehensive book available on Lennox Berkley, but there are still many holes in the information.
