A single source of information for performing groups. This source is to aid in focusing the attention of performers and public towards a large number of works for keyboard ensembles.

Ensembles include; violin, cello, and piano with the occasional work for this combination plus orchestra. Compositions for trios and vocalists and or electronic instruments are also included. The compiled works are by American composers only. This source did not attempt to be a comprehensive source.

Introductory sections include an abbreviations guide listed in alphabetical order. The composers names are listed last name first, alphabetically. In the main body of the text, each entry begins with the composer's name, birth and death information, address where they may be reached, phone number if available, fax number and/or email address and website information. A thumbnail biography or references to other biographies, are included. The trio title, date of composition, the timing including minutes and seconds, publishing and copyright information precede dedications and a list of the libraries that carry the trio. The library information is given in abbreviations and includes the full address. Discography information is listed if available. Comments by the composer and/ or others conclude each entry. The references used are listed alphabetically in the back of the book.
