-
For musicologists and persons interested in the repertoire of the Opera-Comique company from its merger in 1762 with Comediens Italiens to its demise in 1972.
-
This catalogue lists all works comprising music that were given at the Opera-Comique between February 3, 1762 and April 30, 1972. It includes works first given by Opera-Comique or Comediens Italiens before February 3, 1762 so long as they continued to be performed after this date. Also included are ballets and works originally from countries other than France. It excludes all plays without music, short pieces given only once, and concert works.
-
This book is divided into two parts: Chronological List of First Performances, and Catalogue of Works by Title. Each entry in the first part includes the date of performance, and the name of the composer. Each entry in the catalogue includes the main title, a description of the work, notes, revivals, and sources.
