A free, interactive source of texts and translations of lieder and art song.

An archive of texts used in 57,027 Lieder and other classical art songs (Kunstlieder, mélodies, canzoni, ???????, canciones, liederen, canções, sånger, laulua, písne, piosenki, etc.) as well as in many choral works and other types of classical vocal pieces. The collection currently indexes 35,089 texts and includes 7,148 translations to English, French, Italian, Dutch, German, Spanish, Portuguese, and other languages.

The site has two major sections: 1) Song Cycles 2)Other vocal settings contained in the database. Each of these sections are organized alphabetically by title. Each entry contains complete bibliographic information and location of the text. It also gives other information for the text, including the original author, historical background (including its sources), and other available translations. The site also contains text indexes: Composer, Poet, First Line, Title, and Language.
