-
Promotional website for living composer George Andoniadis and his organization ImaginationSound. It is primarily used to purchase his music directly while also learning more about the composer and his works.
-
Compositions do not give their dates; not all scores are provided for all works. Does not include a discography. The site is written in English with the option of translating most pages into either French or Spanish.
-
The homepage includes a brief invitation to the user to explore the site and a link to his opera’s page within the works list. A succinct biography is found on the next tab. In the Music tab, users can sample audio excerpts and view partial scores, as well as purchase music and recordings. His pieces are divided into the following categories: Choral and Song, Opera, Soundscapes, and Theatre. These pieces are then organized alphabetically by title. Andoniadis includes brief informational and personal descriptions of the piece, lyrics (if any) and an audio preview. Users can buy complete recordings or audio files, score licenses and parts. Next, Andoniadis includes a more complete list of works, divided using the same categories as the previous section. These lists, however, are not organized alphabetically. Under each title is the instrumentation, voicing, or theater company associated with the work. He then provides a contact page with means to send him a message through the website or join his mailing list. Additional links are found beneath the menu on the left. The first leads back to the Music page. The second leads to an additional page of YouTube videos in which Andoniadis talks about his opera Lincoln: A Poetic Opera. Finally, there is an outside link to Chorus America, of which the composer is a member.
-
Andoniadis’ website is simple, clear, and user friendly. Users can buy music directly from the source rather than going through another company.
-
Copyright date indicates that the website has not been updated since 2009. Works list does not indicate when each piece was composed. Lack of obvious organization within the categories of the works list. There is a blog icon at the top of the page that is defunct.
